Training course on role of media in conflict reporting

The International Institute for Journalism (IIJ) of GIZ has announced its two-week training course on "The media's role in conflict transformation and peace building", scheduled to hold in Accra, Ghana, from March 19 to 30, 2012.

Organized in collaboration with the Ghana International Press Center, it would provide 15 selected journalists within the West African region, from the print, news agencies and online media, with the opportunity to examine current conflict reporting skills, and to explore conflict sensitive reporting as an opportunity for future journalism development in the region. 
 
 
General requirements:
 
  • have a minimum of four years of professional experience and a strong interest in political and conflict sensitive reporting
  • be proficient in English as the course and all exercises will be conducted in English
  • obtain visas and other relevant documents which may be required before travelling to Ghana
