CNN Multichoice 2014 African Journalist Awards to launch in beginning of May

The Cable News Network (CNN) and Multichoice have launched the 2014 CNN/Multichoice African Journalist of the Year awards. The award, seeks to recognize and encourage excellent journalism practice on the continent, including freelance journalists, across print, television, internet, photographic and radio.
As such the competition is now opened for entries from African journalists.
Eligible African journalists are enjoined to review their 2013 works/stories, and to select the best stories of last year and to submit using the online entry form.
Stories can be entered into the following categories:
Culture Award
The Coca-Cola Company Economics and Business Award
Environment Award
Free Press Africa Award
Mohamed Amin Photographic Award
MSD Health & Medical Award
Sport Award
News Impact Award
GE Energy & Infrastructure Award
Francophone General News Awards
Portuguese Language General News Award
Initial deadline: May 30, 2014 later extended to June 6, 2014
